Default changing clock on navi...am I retarded?

this might just be the most stupid question of the week, but how the shell am I supposed to change the clock on the navi?

whenever I enter my destination, it says estimated time of arrival about two hours earlier than what it actually should be....

and oh yeah - I almost traded'er in for a E46 M3 today...

I believe the time on the NAV is set by satelite. I can't set the time on my portable Garmin, either.

You can however change the time -zone- on your garmin, which'd probably correct it being 2 hours off for example.

I always thought the eta when setting destination is based on what input you put in for local, highway, etc. There's a setting where you input your speed when traveling on local and highway. I could be wrong and way off.

I thought of that aswell, but when I input a destination nearby, it says I should have been there a while ago already before I start driving....yeah wtf..?

can I adjust the timezone anywhere on the navi?

thanks

no--just "special".

You have to go into the settings, and find the DST setting. Personally, I prefer the nav to show the minutes to arrival, rather than the destination time. If you press the box that shows the destination time, a menu pops out, and you can toggle it to minutes remaining.

EXACTLY why I prefer the time to dest instead.

you're right--but then it uses some incorrect sat clock to tell you when you'll get there--but keeps adjusting. I've got 5 miles left, and at 5:00 it tells me I'll arrive in at 5:01 minute. Then, at 5:02 , it says I'll arrive at 5:04. I'd rather it just say I'll arrive in 5 minutes.

Both the Time Zone, and whether Daylight Saving Time is in effect. Having that setting off will also throw off the clock.

I see, I never knew you could do actual time to arrival. I wish the eta was based on your actual driving speed, probably not possible to get feature huh?

Maybe on your Nuvi, but not on mine. I have a 276C, marine, and street maps. Besides, the satellites *always* know which time zone your in.

You apparently need to read your owners manual.

On page 83 it will explain to you how to set your time zone, and if you want to use DST or not.

Here, let me help, here's the section from the manual for you-
