I want to remove those ugly amber side markers from headlights, but after quick inspection of the unit under the hood I came to a conclusion that the only way to reach it is to disassemble the whole headlight unit. Is that so or there is an easy way I missed?

I thought of taking that amber strip out when I had my headlights apart to blackout my housings, but behind that piece of plastic is the LED circuit board and wiring. It'd look weird with that piece of plastic missing and a circuit board just sitting there in its place.

Well, either way, you're going to have to open the headlight to get to that circuit. Not sure on how to disable it short of just cutting the wires. Our cars can get a little testy when you start messing with the wiring. I blew my fair share of fuses when I was replacing the 7440 sockets for the turn signals with 7443s for my switchback LED setup in the front signals.

I swear you come in to every headlight thread to tell everyone you've pulled your lights apart 4 times. Congratulations already. If you want to toss some spray paint on a circuit board, have at it. I'd say if you really hated the amber to spray the amber part. Guess I'm not qualified to speak on that though since I've only pulled my lights apart once. [/sarcasm]
What possible reason could you have for opening your lights up 4 times?
