Where's your tint at? I wouldn't consider this 'blacked out' at all.

to the purple thing: yeah its the pic, its just black in person. my camera is pretty old and the weather was interesting so i think it messed with it.

And my tint? you mean the windows? i have 30% all around which i know isnt that dark but it was a birthday present from the girlfriend and thats the legal limit here in florida

and yeah i guess the thread title doesnt represent the car, it was more for the lights. but my car is on it was to being blacked out and yes, i do plan getting all chrome on the car painted 212 black to match the car. then from there i plan on full black rims when i have the money.

EDIT: does anyone know roughly how much ill be looking at to get the grill, window trim, and logos on the back to painted by a shop? hopefully under $200?

I have 20% tint film on my tails w/ the reverse light cut-out so the white square piece goes along with the chrome (L - lexus) emblem..debadged the rest. I am actually getting the housings painted in a few weeks so I will be posting pics up a.s.a.p. along with the grill (all color-matched -same paint as car)..i know of the nightshade stuff you are taking about, if you like matte black keep it, if not i hear u jus gotta add some clear coat to gloss it up..the rear came out odd to me. i know some shops that will actually sand/paint/clearcoat/buff the tails to any percentage tint which would prob. offer you better color but koo karr. p.s. i used to have 20% tint film on my 05 grand cherokee and it looked badass, but with all honesty they melt to the lense and it's a mess so you chose one of the better ways..housing painted FTW!

here is a pic of smoked tails (EXACTLY WHAT i HAVE, I JUST HAVE NO PICS!)..tint film. looks a tad darker in person

Agreed, the matte finish makes it look unfinished. It almost looks like that guy that used pantyhose to tint his taillights. For me, lights should be glossy, they're lights after all. I've seen the matte finish on some cars in person and it looks bad every time. It just looks like they're dirty.

I had my taillights tinted by my local body shop when I had some work done. And I have my headlights tinted with Aerotect film as well as black rims. If the wheels didn't have a polished lip, I'd think there was too much black.

Did you lightly sand down the tail lights and head lights? when I did this on my Acura CL I removed the entire housing, lightly sanded it, sprayed even coats than shot it with clear. Came out very professional looking tbh

i think you need to paint your center and get rid of the chrome to go with the whole darkness idea
but what did you use to darken them?
