Not my cup of tea. Waste of money in my opinion. But to each his own.

The Matador Red one comes to our service department(Lexus of Westminster) for service. He's about 70 years old.

Is he a former pimp or drug pusher?

Why ya'll just throwing up a little? Why not puke your brains out? Don't hold back here... that is the biggest disgrace to an IS. Step into the bathroom and let it all out.

I'm surprised the owner didn't put on a set of Landau Irons and curb feelers. Make it really look like a throwback to the 60's and 70's. Better yet, how about a fake spare tire cover on the back bumper? The sky is the limit.

This entire thread has reminded me of my age. I am finding it interesting how this car is somewhat of a mystery and surprise to many in here. But if one lived through the 70's and 80's (as I have), it's plain to see where this look comes from and who liked it.
What we have here is an old lady that was used to Cadillacs, Lincolns, and Buicks that came from the factory with vinyl roofs. When a dealership wanted to make it look real premium and charge a ton extra, they'd tack on fake buttons and chrome/gold trim. I think the term is "Landau Top." It caught on with the wealthy seniors at first, then with the pimps and drug dealers when Cadillac couldn't produce anything competitive and sold themselves out in the 90's. Now, as we see here, there are still a few clueless people out there living in the past who think this look is still stylish and in.
The whole thing is kinda funny, if a bit sad for the IS that was abused. For those of you who don't get this, just consider yourself lucky you skipped out on a tacky time era of Ricardo Monteban and land yachts.

Hey guys, I do not like that look either but it was cool of the OP to post it. It was definitely badass that OP's father was able to do this. I'm sure this will get back to corporate and help IS's numbers.

I know some here would say that they shouldn't let it happen but trust me, that lady would find someone who does and would sure sure charge her more than OP's father who's done business with her before. (She bought it that way from the caddy before.)

That said... its a dark day for the IS. I'm thinking of wearing black for mourning...
