How often do you change ATF in IS250 transmission?
My local dealer said that it needs to be changed every 40 tkm. What do you think?

Manual says no oil change provided, and knowing people say that complete tranny oil change is also impossible.

I saw this machine that they had at a shop that plugs into the two hoses that go from the tranny to the radiator to cool the tranny fluid.
I am not sure if the IS has these hoses (im sure it does because every auto tranny i've seen on other cars has this) or if you can flush and fill using this machine to change the fluid.

^^^ Just make sure that they use the right trans fluid when they do this, otherwise you are going to damage your trans with the wrong fluid.
Regular maintenance is not required on this trans.

Depends how long you want your automatic transmission to last.
OEM and dealer look at it as a very profitable to replace wear item.
Drain and refill won't cut it as the vast majority of the worn and contaminated fluid remains.

Adding a real auxiliary ATF cooler rather than the factory ATF heat absorber couldn't hurt either.

Can you explain -how- to do this, since the manual, lexus.com, the diagrams from TIS, and everything else we've seen, all suggest it's not physically possible to swap any significant amount of the fluid out, and that the system is, by design, not to have its fluid changed?
If it IS possible I'm sure a lot of people would love to know exactly how.
