Half million or one million miles?

I'll let you know, our family uses our cars until they can't be driven anymore. I'm sure it also depends on where you are. I drove 100k one year because of work on an Accord in Texas, if I kept that up, it might have made it. For normal commute, 12k miles per year thing for warranty easy.
I think it is harder to put that many miles in the NE area since everything is close together.

Mentions cars with 1 million, and 2.5 million, miles respectively... I'm sure there's others. (A buddy knew a guy with a diesel suburban with over 1 mil miles for example).

If you had asked this question 6 or 7 years ago , it would have been a resounding YES .
With todays built quality of toyota vehicles it is not the same.
Earlier reliability claims of super high milage were on cars that involved well made components.
To the average buyer the cars look and feel the same.
Some one like me who takes them apart can;t stand to see where toyota is going by making the bottom line more important now that they have established a name for themselves.
Unfortunatly this is teh same path GM went down years ago when they were on top and had cars and trucks that would not quit (early 80's).
I am sorry but flimsy parts , door that do not thud closed (caused by proper sealing ) and the kicker is seeing styrofoam in the fender arches for noise delfection has left me shaking my head.
Oh well i still own the old school stuff so it will keep going.

My acura TL (2000) lasted 276k miles so far, the trans has been rebuilt a few times, other than that everything smooth.
To the point, I think the IS could last 250k, the automatic trans is the weakest point IMO.
