Default Drove the car with the parking brake on..

I was a little out of it this morning due to lack of sleep and I backed up my car for about 15 feet in the driveway with the parking brake on. (I have a MT so parking brake handle was up.) Will this be damaging to the brake and the car?

I remember getting to my destanation after a few miles..only to realize that my PB was left on after being set by the valet...I almost never use mine. I don't think it really is that useful anyways...so 15 feet is nothing..your car will live

Thanks for the assurance. For some reason, I really baby my IS. so whenever something seems out of place, I tend to get concerned. I had a BMW 325Ci before the IS but don't remember being this **** about taking care of and maintaing the car - my wife can't stand it lol.

The brake light should have been on to begin with and after shifting to drive and vehicle in motion, the warning tone would begin to sound with a flashing symbol in the information display.

However, you said you "backed-up". Not sure if the tone and flashing alert work in reverse.

lol the parking break isn't meant to 100% stop your car from moving when you accelerate... the power from the acceleration is stronger than the breaks

why did lexus decide to put the parking brake down there? why not like a standard hand brake by the shifter?
