Default Question about VDIM

I just got a 2006 is350 and was looking into the VDIM OFF with the pedal dance. However I noticed that my car has a "TRAC OFF" button beside the engine start button, is that the same thing as 07+ models VDIM disable button? If it is the same, I find this weird because my car def is a 06... maybe im missing something because I'm a noob lol

no, pressing+holding the button won't work in your '06. you must do the pedal dance...

oh so what does the "TRAC OFF" button do anyways? I thought traction control off = VDIM off ...?

Pressing the button turns traction control off, but it automatically reactivates at 30 MPH. To make traction control stay off, you need to do the pedal dance.

On the newer models, you can do the same thing by pressing and holding the "TRAC OFF" button. On the '06, holding the button in doesn't do anything special.

It's in the FAQ thread stickied to the top of the forum. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-off-vdim.html

It turns back on automatically next time the car is started.

Nothing can turn the VDIM off. You can only disable the traction control and/or the vehicle stability contol.
