Default Hid fog decision time

Alright you guys, after reading almost every HID fog light thread on the server I'd have a splitting headache if it wasn't for the morphine!

I've been working 28+ days a month for a couple of years, been really busy helping Tammy raise the grands, and finally decided to quit my full time job and keep my expanded part time job and can now actually do a little work on the IS.
Heck, the JIC Coilovers are just waiting for me in the garage and I've pretty much finished most of the JEEP.

I've got the yellow overlay, and the stock fog lights and original bulbs.
What HID FOG setup do I want to buy? And from who? And 2500K to 3000K is a must!

i don't like the color of yellow HID ......it's not yellow enough, i highly suggust you get the Nokya 2500k_70w bulbs (the hyper yellow)
i have been using it for a year already, and didn't have any problem.

+1 for mobileHID... great product and even greater customer service. I'm going on 2 years and couldn't be happier with my 3000K fogs =)

those are halogen bulbs lol

you don't connect hid ballasts to that

+1 about what Love67 said.

3000k HID's aren't yellow enough.

they look good if you have yellow overlays tho.

personal preference.

you could save massive dough and just get the nokya bulbs.

easier to install too! no taking off of the front bumper

without HID ballasts you'll still have a ballast that lights your Halogen bulbs no? and they do have a certain limit to their wattage too..

Yes, I do have the yellow film on the fogs. As good as it looks, it's just not a lot of light compared to the Lexus HID low beams. Driving in heavy fog, the factory fogs, yellow tint or not, just don't have enough output to do the job.
It might be better if we could kill the low beams, but we can't even do that.

Rode in a IS250 with the Xenon Depot 3K HID fogs and the vinyl overlays and it was terrific.
He had his HID fogs wired directly to the battery and triggered by the parking lights, lighting was terrific, you could easily drive around dark neighborhoods at 30-40 mph. With the Lexus HID low beams on it was a good match, and damn it looks good on the road!

I'm thinking about installing a hidden switch under the dash that triggers the HID relay from either the parking light circuit, or the fog circuit, depending on position. Of course in the fog position they would operate as the factory desired, in the other they would be on anytime the parking lights are on.
Any reason we couldn't do the HID kit this way?

My Jeep is a '08, bought with stock options from my old job I chose to dump at $43, which are at $23 right now, so I made out good before the crash. Have spent quite a bit on it in upgrades as you can tell, and still have to do axles, CTMs, couple more skid plates, 4,88 gears, the Volant dual outlet muffler will be here next week, kind of sad, been enjoying driving it with no muffler!
It's over a year old now and I have 8K on it's odometer, which has helped keep the IS350 down to 18K. I told myself I'd get 20K out of the stock Lexus suspension before I put the JIC coilovers on, well close enough!
My IS has tinted windows, HKS HiPower exhaust, OZ rims, and it's time to get with the program, especially since I have a back up ride now!

Got a set of the 3K ordered from Xenon Depot, will take a look at the switching options tomorrow.
Basically, a 2 positions on a switch under the dash, one for stock control, and one triggered by the parking lights only.
If they look as good as the set in that IS250 I drove I'll be very pleased.
