Default New Member...shall I get full F Sport Package?

Hello everyone,

I just joined the forum this evening, and I'm happy to say I will soon be a Lexus owner and its about time too!

I'm buying a 2009 IS250 this month with full F Sport Package...wheels, brakes, suspension, sway bars, etc...

Please let me know if this is the way to go (due to Lexus covering full warranty) or if I'm better off buying aftermarket parts. Also, does the F Sport spring have a nice stance in person, and most importantly is it the right height to avoid any rubbing if I decide to run 9"F 10.5"R Volks?

Thanks in advance!
JVT

Welcome to CL

I think the F-Sport stuff would look and perform great! Being OEM and having a full warranty is a bonus. For the springs... I think the H&R springs have a better stance. Whatever you do, please skip the engine cover... lol

Thank you for the welcome!

I live in Nor Cal...about 30mins. south of San Francisco.

In regards to mod bug...it actually bit me last year at the SF Moscone Auto Show. I saw the IS250 with full F Sport package and I fell in love with the car. No BS here...the IS250 F Sport look so good, I don't even remember seeing any other cars at the show. Anyway, I couldn't afford it at that time, I saved up and now I'm ready to buy the car.

What I find strange, no dealer in Nor Cal has a IS250/350 with F sport package. So I'm kinda walking around blind folded right now. I really like to see how F sport package looks before I give them my money, but then again, I'm sure it looks very similar to the pic below.

Thanks again for the welcome guys!

I haven't bought my IS yet, I'm placing my order this month and you're right it's not cheap, but I've been saving up for this car for awhile now. So I'm ready to buy the car with every F sport accessories available, except for the F sport air freshener.

Although some of your feedbacks is making me think twice, such as getting CF engine cover, spring, and possibly clutch.

I will definitely post pics when car arrives.

Me too! Do you live in the san mateo area? We are very lacking in good looking ISX50s. Every one you see is stock!

Congrats on your upcoming purchase. You must have saved a pretty penny for the F-Sport pkg. If you're getting a great deal and a warranty from the dealership for the F-Sport pkg, then I think you should go for it. If not, it might be a little cheaper to get the parts thru our sponsors online or to get different aftermarket parts.

The CF engine cover is really nice, but IMHO, not really worth it. You could get something more useful or just as nice for half the price.

Where in SSF are you from? I agree with Giantsfan, there are only a few modded x50's here.

Nonetheless, good luck on whatever you decide to. Keep us posted.

I would if I could go back in time. You would probably save some money on labor and maybe a discount since you are getting the whole f sports pkg

You're pretty good! I do live in San Mateo area.

Even at Putnam Lexus (where I'm placing my order) said, "it is very rare we see or get an order for an ISX50 with F package. We see more IS-F than F Sport ISX50 here."
