Good point but price difference is much bigger between IS350 and ISF compared with IS250 vs IS350.

Definitely drive the 250 before you make up your mind. I wouldn't be surprised if your XRS feels faster & sportier. I still can't get over an 08 highlander being faster than the 250.

Agree, and the IS350 is probably the best high performance value as used car.

I chose an IS250 because I wanted a gas saver and because it can keep me out of trouble, did I want an IS350? Yes. Would I still be here? Who knows. Point is I like the gas mileage and the car over all. If you want power go for the IS350. Consider this my IS250 cost more than a base IS350 because of the installed factory options. It's just a choice of what satisfies your needs

350...i got one here in Los Angeles for 25,000 it's an 06 had 38K on it luxury pkg...NAV...get 350..i had all the recalls done and just got back from the dealer..i popped a clip off that holds the rear bumper on & tweaked a tire pressure sensor..Didn't cost anything to have fixed...I took it to a track day in Bakersfield @ button willow...I guess pushing the car the twisting popped the clip off & tweaked the sensor..HEHE was a blast....

loaded vs. power .... it's a toughie considering i love the tech as well.. but at the end of the day, I'd have to choose the power. I'll settle with less power when I get older.

Hey, I had to make the exact same decision. I had only two cars to choose from (and I was looking for some time): 06 IS250 fully loaded or 06 IS350 completely base (even then, there was a significant price difference). While I also would've liked the extra power, I chose the fully loaded IS250 because I wanted a luxurious car to drive around. I know many will disagree with me, but what's the point of having a Lexus if there is no luxury? I would've gotten the IS350 if I could've afforded it WITH the luxury features. Plus, I got such a good deal, I'm not going to be picky...

Good luck with your choice and either way you go, you can't go wrong with a Lexus!

I had the same decision. I chose the IS250 because it was cheaper. I work at Lexus and I'm on a special lease program so I chose the least expensive. But after my lease is up, I may get a 350. I stepped up from a 4Runner so the IS250 was a huuuge upgrade in luxury and speed for me.

If I had the choice, I would have taken the 350.

This was the case with mine, I could have gotten a 350 but I was set on getting a 6MT which only the 250 offers.

Imagine how I felt after I test drove the 250 and then got into my integra with a B18c and mild cams. I was very disapointed how my almost 20 year old integra was so much faster.

Default 350

I had a 250 and switched to a 350 after a year and a half. 350 is way better. Even though I miss my first Lexus, everytime I press the gas on the 350, I forget about the 250. During that year and a half, I kept thinking what if...

I really do want the 350. I'll probably wait until the end of summer or so and see if one pops up with Nav and all the good stuff for the right price. I preferably want an 07. Would you guys get an 06 without any doubt? Most of the 350's I've seen with the options I want are 2006. I've found a couple of 07 with Nav and the good stuff. I don't want chrome wheels, and I want white or silver...but they have the Luxury package if I'm not mistaken. BUT the 1st is certified with under 40k miles and they're askin 29,000 for it. How much do they usually negotiate on certified ones? I plan on keeping the car probably 5 years or so. When the certified warranty is almost up, can I take it in and buy an extended powertrain warranty? Like they inspect it and see it's all good, then I buy the powertrain warranty to cover me from 95k to 125k miles?

The 2nd one I listed is certified with nice low miles and 1 lease owner on the carfax. Not sold at auction either.

The only regret I have is not having a stick anymore

I had a 95 integra sedan, non vtec with a Jackson racing supercharger and the integra was so much quicker than the is250 6 speed manual. i felt like I would be downgrading in performance if I bought the 250.

I have an is250 and the main reason why I purchased it was because I was concered about fuel costs. It was around 5 bucks a gallon at that time when I purchased my car.

Is there really significant difference between the two models in terms of fuel efficiency? If not, I really wish I went with the IS350... my car is very slow. My previous car was a heavily modified Eclipse GST boosting 24psi daily. Very different power levels, but the comfort in my Lexus is UNBEATABLE! I sure do miss turbo though.
