Default How do I reset "Oil Maint Req Soon" message?

So I have the message popping up since I need to do an oil change soon (friggen annoying) and they oil change won't be done until I go in for my 'Engine Rattle on Cold Startup' TSIB in July but I want to get rid of the annoying message.

I have searched and found threads talking about it but I can't seem to get it to go away. Maybe I am not following the instruction right. I can't find it in my manual either.

What I am doing is:
1) Holding the odometer button
2) Press Start Engine button while brake is down to start the car.
3) Keep holding down odometer button expecting something to happen.

What am I missing... it's obviously something so basic that I am completely missing it.

1) make sure the display is show odometer counter (not Trip A or B)
2) turn off the car
3) press and hold the odometer reset ****
4) press Start button w/o pressing down the brake (so car wouldn't start)
5) you'll see 000000 then ---------

Maybe I'm wrong w/ step 4 as I'm not sure if car needs to start or not. Try it

Ok I got it to work... your steps are right... ALMOST. Here is what worked:

1) make sure the display is show odometer counter (not Trip A or B)
2) turn off the car
3) press Start button w/o pressing down the brake (the state where stereo is on but no all the high power accessories, you shouldn't see your odometer lit up)
4) press and hold the odometer reset ****
5) press Start button w/o pressing down the brake (so car wouldn't start)
6) you'll see 000000 then ---------

That was the problem... I kept holding the odometer and then pressing the start button ONCE.

Folks, this process is well documented in the FAQ thread stickied at the top of the forum.
