Take out your metal key and theres a slit in the opening. Stick the metal key between the slit and you can pop the key cover open.
found this from google![Wink](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
1. Take out the mechanical key from your fob.
2. Put a flat head screwdriver(you can use your own metal key) into the inset space...just inside of the mechanical key slot....and turn it. This will pry open the fob.
3. Remove the old battery and replace with a new CR1632 battery..positive side facing up.
4. Replace the cover of the fob by first pressing on the bottom then the top (The top is the side where the mechanical key is inserted)

Yeah the dealership said they will replace my battery for free too. And I think you can still start your car with a dead battery. Just hold you key fob right beside your start button. Well that's what the dealership told me when I picked up my car.

Some Lexus dealers replace key fob batteries as a courtesy, others charge about $12 for the battery. You can also buy the battery at Radio Shack, Batteries Plus, and on eBay. (As documented in many past threads on this topic)

yea...order these online if you can. no stores around here carry that battery size...went to the Parts Dept. at the dealership and they wanted 7.50 a battery. Parts guy said he would give me a discount...i asked how much and he took off .50 cents lol I went to the Service Dept. and asked one of the reps there if they can hook me up. He gave me a pack for free ![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
so note- when going to a dealership, ask the Service dept. reps...not Parts dept.
