the AC adapter that it comes with provides 12VDC to the player...just splice this power wire and tap it into your VCC in the car (I used cigarette adapter, but you can also hook it up to your navi power source)

wow, is it sad that I work in IT, surf the internet all day, (engadget, gizmodo, digg, slashdot, etc) and have NEVER heard of this?? wtf? this is amazing, going in my glovebox tomorrow. How do you have yours hooked up? do you get oscillating lines on your screen at all?

^^ believe there's already a pretty good write-up for installing nav-tool here (thanks vodka for being trailblazer to this
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=322806

And also Sinister's write-up is good :

Finally, to eliminate the video/audio noise, make sure you buy a 12VDC in-line noise suppressor (boss b-15n) :

Hmm... I wonder why didn't Navtool add something like this in to stop the video/audio noise.

By the way I just picked one up from Ebay for 10 shipped.

Jay.Diem Where did you install your noise suppressor?

i think its the connection between the navtool and the NAV should have insulated wires which navtool does not have. This is most like the cause of the noise.

I remember the guy who added an ML changer to his non-ML system to play DVDs mention something about insulated wires in the oem repair manual.

Do you know what kind of insulation the wires need. Maybe I can do something about the wires before putting the navtool in..
