Did you mount the "powered by Panasonic" decals sideways on your windows after getting them? After all, if it's JDM, then it must make it faster and give a power increase somewhere, right?

i had to have mine replaced... it IS the principle of it... my car was on the lot for 8 months and the batteries went low.. lasted 2 months when i had it. had to pay. ya its just a buck, but hey if its so cheap... why doesnt lexus go ahead and cover the costs? Wipers/brakes/tires dont go bad just sittin on the lot.

I understand "the principle" of this, but in life there are battles worth choosing, and this is not one of them. Go pester your service advisor for a free battery and you bet your bottom dollar they will remember you, and not in a good way. I'd much rather save that goodwill with the dealer for a time when I really need it, not for a $1 battery. Case in point - my service advisor will ABSOLUTELY give me a free battery, but I still go buy my own. It's a wear item, and not something I feel they should be paying for.

Actually, wipers and tires do go bad just sitting on the lot.

Had a lady in the pharmacy the other day that wanted to know if the paperwork had come back in from Social Security that would pay for her hearing aid batteries!
She wasn't driving a Lexus.

Well--you are off base on principal too. Batteries wear out--normal wear and tear. If your remote died after 6 weeks--then I might be on your side.

Your gas tank is getting low--ask the dealer if they will refill it under warranty.

The warranty would specify--but every car warranty clearly excludes normal wear and tear. If you car battery dies after 3.5 years, they are going to say it's normal wear.
