Default What Happens After Loan Pay-off (Lexus Financial)

I paid off my car last week and was wondering what happens now. Does Lexus Financial send me the title? Is there any process I need to initiate? Thanks.

The car title will be sent to you. In my experience, this can take up to three weeks depending on who's holding it.

Give them a little time, it's only been a week! They will send it to you in due course. If you don't get it in a couple of weeks give them a call. Millions of cars have titles that eventually get sent to the rightful owners after the loan is paid off. Your situation is not unique.

Whoa, calm down there tiger, I think you're reading too much into the question. I was merely curious as to the process since this is the first car I've purchased myself.

You asked if there was anything you needed to do, and other posters already were saying you should call. There is nothing to do at this point. Your title will get to you. I'm not reading anything into your original question, sorry if it sounded like I was. Perhaps I was responding more to those who were telling you to contact them to speed it up (it won't).

call them and ask nicely for an ETA when your title will be delivered...that should trigger someone to followup.

next...your vehicle registration or insuance card may show a lien holder....next time you register your vehicle...have the lien holder info removed...as you are now free and clear...so to speak.

congrats on being debt free on your ride.

In California title or pink slip gets mailed to you within a month. But you may have to followup with the lender if it's delayed.

After you get the title, you should go to the DMV to have the car retitled in your name. It's been almost 2 years and I still haven't done this

On a side note does anyone know if Lexus financial charges a fee/fine for paying off your loan early?

It took me exactly 3 weeks to get mine after I did my "one time payment" for the fully amount 3 weeks ago on their website. They send you a little letter also that states you paid off your loan.
