There's no way to tell if the '09's are quieter. They are still too new. Rattles usually crop up later on in the vehicle's lives, like six months to two years. If one recalls this blogsite's history, everyone has said the same thing with every new model year, that the "0-whatevers" are much quieter. Then a year goes by and we all come to the same conclusion... they still rattle. When I researched my new '08 back in the day, I was told the exact same thing..."it should be quieter,Luxus has addressed it." But low and behold, I have the same rattles as the older models. So mark my words, the '09's will have the same issue, it's just going to take a little more time for them to begin. Bottom line, Lexus has done nothing to overhaul the interior and w/o doing that, nothing will change until the 3IS.
Now over to the "buy for $2k and keep payments the same" comment. ***Never*** buy a vehicle this way. This is one of the most hidden, classic, and devious ways a dealer rips off a customer. ALWAYS buy your car using the invoice as your guide. Then break down the down payment, the monthly payment, miles per year (if leasing), and APR's. You may be able to get it for far less than what he is offering you, if you actually see all the numbers in front of you. Nine times out of ten, he's ripping you off by hiding all the fine print and offering you "one easy way." Again, this is an old-school sales tactic designed to take advantage of someone not willing to go through the trouble of buying a car carefully.
Lastly, I'd do a 350 if I had to do it all over again. The 250 just isn't enough power for someone who likes to drive "efficiently." But that is purely an opinion and personal need.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Here's my question.
I have a 2007 IS 250 that has had numerous rattles, noises etc...It's been to the dealer many times and it's better but not "Lexus like". The dealer offered to take me out of is and put me into an 09 for approx $2k with the same payment.
For all of you that have an '09, are they quiet? Have the issues been addressed in year #3 of production?
Thanks....

WHats with all these rattle complaints? I did have one dash rattle that was taken care of but its been perfect ever since.
OP: I would just stay with your 07 and have the dealer fix those rattles.

Ok, so here is the scoop.
The offer was $24,000 Trade-in for my '07 IS250 (owed $12,600: 22,000 miles) and $31,130 for an '09 IS250 non-nav. With $2K down, the payment @ 2.9% for 60 months (purchase) was going to be $378.00.
I drove a couple and the visors still creak had a rattle somewhere in the rear deck, so I was thinking why would I change to another IS when what drives me crazy hasn't been addressed.
Yesterday, my wife and I went to an Infiniti dealer and drove the G37 Journey w/ Premium Package. Definitely a nice car!
Solid as a rock and great engine...reminds me of my '93 & '95 Maxima SE's.
I think I might end up going that direction.
