I feel you. Here in Dallas there are IS's galore everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE, but I've seen only 1 fixed up IS on the road, besides my coworker's 350 with Tein S-techs. (And the dude wouldn't have dropped his ride if it hadn't been for me)
I used to stay in San Diego, so I know how they do it out there, but here in Texhicks, sh it ain't like that. Dtown is definitely slipping. Maybe it's just me, but nada so far. All we see here are frontin rice burner hondas & Camaros and Vettes everywhere. Every now & then I see something worthwhile, but never often.
But at least Sewell is right around the way!

Maybe once a month I'll see something that actually makes me turn my head.

it's a lot of effort to put into a car that you won't have 2-3 years down the line. I do think you're right about the leased cars, at least up here in the north. Tho tbh I've seen a lot more girls driving the car lately

+1 on women drivers... thats all I see driving the IS. Though I must say they are all only driving the IS250 awd (which is the only IS I ever see). I'm happy to drive the IS. What I like to think sets me apart from the 'women drivers' is the aggressive choice I took in modding my car. Mesh wheels (the right kind of mesh that is) BBS, Volk ect... dropped, gfx kit ect.. make almost any car look muscular and aggressive. That and I have a 350... I feel very unique on the road.

I've only seen 1 IS350 (just visiting I believe) in my city that's been modded - very clean, I might add.
All the others are rolling bone stock, and I see at least 5 2IS's everyday... (Most of them are white IS250's lol.)
Mine's still stock... :/
I've only seen 2 modded 2IS's here in DFW...
