My other car is black. And I agree black is beautiful color when they are newly washed and waxed, but if you dislike looking at spider webs/swirl marks, don't buy a black car. In my opinion, that is the only disadvantage of owning a black car, no matter how much you clean it, the swirl marks will never go away.

I have not seen many 2009 IS 250 Black cars outside only through pictures. Does the IS 250 look good on black or white is the best looking color for the IS 250?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. While one person my like it, another may not. I wouldn't worry about what others think. You have to live with the color, so it should be your call. =)

One advantage to black is since you do see all its flaws and swirls, it might force one to take better care of the finish. I know with white and lighter colors, a lot of scratches build up and get left simply because "no one can see them." Stuff like that makes me nervous on my GFM, so I treat it like it's black. So at least with black it's easy to spot. The lighter colors are a chore to inspect and often get neglected.

In my opinion, black on black is the ONLY way to go. Every car I've owned has been blk/blk. For current my 350, I flew over 900 miles to another state and personally drove the car back to have this color combo, and also equipped exactly the way I wanted it.

I'd have it no other way. But, I guess I'm just too picky.

I agree that black and black is the way to go, but for the IS 250 strictly, does black exterior look good for the car or white is the best looking for the IS?

I agree, probably why SGM is such a popular color since it's a bit easier to maintain.

It's all a matter of opinion.
A lot of my friends love Blk/Blk, but I personally prefer a lighter interior. In the end it's all up to you. (I have a SGM w/ gray interior - best combo for me.)

mmmmm black on black

Stealthy, aggressive and mean looking IMO. But, my car does lurk in the shadows since the sunlight reveals swirlies and dust. =/ But if I had it to do over again, I'd still pick black/black

Black is a PITA. Swirls, scratches, chips (Lexus paint sucks), water spots, etc all show. However, these are only really apparent in direct sunlight from within 3-5 feet. So, most other ppl will only see a nice black paint job. For me, I had a choice between sliver/black, white/tan and black/tan, and I went with black/tan. As much as it is a PITA to maintain, I love the color. Aside from cleaning issues, you can never go wrong with black. Lucky for me my Lexus dealer does free washes (and they do a damn fine job). So, I just pull in there once a week for a wash. Aside from that, you can have the car detailed once or twice a year (I mean a good detailing) to reduce/eliminate swirls, small scratches, etc.
