Just to clarify, these are not 'cooled' seats, all they do is blow whatever the cabin temp air is through the system. Heated seats actually warm up through electric means. Big difference.

I believe that is the way their are supposed to work. If they blow, then you should consult with you Lexus dealer.

lol.
This post is funny cos through this pas week I've been trying to figure out how to make my "ventilated" seats to "cool"... sweet heatwave + parking in the sun(all day) = toasty bums.
OP, like me, is noticing the heat on the lower back cos the tush gets cooler relative to the other areas on the seat. It's normal. I dont think the fan is supposed to blow air out the lower back, just the booty area.

I was thinking mine were not working correctly as well, until I got a loaner ES that worked the same: cooled the seat portion, but not the back (where you really need it).

It's becaused they aren't "cooled" like on an LS, there just "ventilated". It's like the difference between an air conditioner and a ceiling fan--if it's really hot, the ceiling fan isn't going to cut it.

it vents out the back too. arch your back--you will feel it.

This is the most annoying part isn't it? When I tell people I have ventilated seats they light up expecting something great and then there is always that awkward moment when they look at you like they are wondering if they should mention there's isn't working. I have driven a Cadillac Deville with actual cooled seats and it was amazing. With that said, I would rather drive a Lexus with below average ventilated seats than a Caddy with air conditioned seats any day.

The temperature coming out is DIRECTLY proportionate to your AC system. I've found they work best when my AC is set at 68 degrees, but then I am chilled out of my car. The warmer your AC blows out, the warmer the seats will blow, they are directly tied to the AC.

I took it to the dealer and had them check it, and they told me it was "functioning as designed" on the sheet I got back from them.

I too notice the fan noise, a little annoying, but most of the time I have the stereo on anyway. The cooling is definitely better on the Lincoln MKZ, but I would take my IS over a Lincoln any day of the week!

I think Infiniti actually HAS A/C seats. They blow cold A/C air up through the seats unlike most other manufactures that just pull or push ambient air.

I feel like my passenger side works a lot better than the drivers side. I did a little test by placing a small piece of paper on both and seeing if the passenger seat could cause it to slide down the seat and comparing it to the drivers side.

Sure enough, the passenger seat could blow the paper away while the on the drivers side the paper just sat there. I took it to the dealer and complained that the drivers was worse than the passenger and they told me they didn't find a difference. When I told them to try my test they looked at me like I was retarded. *Sigh*
