Tire wear, front vs rear?

Tire wear, front vs rear?
Just a straw pole - do you front tires wear faster than your rears? Mine are, but mostly on the outside edge (not both, like you would see with under-inflated tires). I have some pretty long and sweepy off ramps that I take maybe a little faster that I should, which is what I've attributed the outer wear to but the fronts in general seem to be wearing much faster than the rears.

My car has the exact same issue.... front tires, expecially the outer edge, is pretty dang worn... I thought maybe my alignment was off... but apparently you have the same issue.
at least I know I'm not abnormal!

Because your engine is in the front, and most of the weight and your front tires is what you use to turn your car and cornering. (this is what my father told me for the past 10 years)
and if your car is FWD or RWD or AWD

It's a RWD. Yes, with FWD, most of the weight is over the front wheels so they tend to wear first, but with the Lexus, the weight distribution is almost 50/50 (F/R). The front tires are 225s while the rears are 255s, so I wonder if having the weight spread over a larger contact patch on the rear slows the wear down? (or something else?)

If your alignment is good, then it's all due to slow speed turning. IE, parking lots, around corners, backing out, etc. The more the wheel is turned, the more you grind the outter edge of the fronts. Pretty cut and dry.

FALSE If you take your vehicle to a good alignment tech show them your tires & tell them your driving habits they can align the vehicle to minimize uneven tread wear
