That dip stick looks like my 250. There has got to be something wrong because everytime I change my oil the oil light stays on longer right after the oil change compared to normal start up
my dipstick has never led me to believe that it is low because it showed no oil when I drained

My expectation is that I will go to the dealer and they will look at car and say "Sorry Sam but your car is now a shiney black piece of junk. You should have been checking the oil."
I know that sounds paranoid. But there are so many dealer rip-off stories that I would rather be safe than sorry.

Possibility of a vacuum, or physical blockage, which would not allow much oil to drain from the system. Did you remove the oil filler cap when you drained the sump? I think you still have plenty of oil in the engine, it just isn't draining properly for whatever reason. Let us know what the dealer says. I'll bet it is a blockage in the system.

Wow.. The IS350 takes 6qts & 19ozs on a drain & refill with filter..
If ONLY one quart drained and oil still showed up on the dip stick, there is something else wrong...
I can not see your engine burning up over 5 qts of oil..!!
My dip stick is always clean while the engine has NO OIL...
How much oil did you put in when you were done and how did the dip stick look???
I bet the oil is well passed the 2 dots area...

Anybody with an 07 350 want to pull out their dipstick and check it against the video? The only reason it would read oil without oil in the engine is if it's hitting the bottom of the oil pan from being far too long. I can't imagine how an '07 model would still be running if it was consistently at one quart or less.

1. When you turn your car on to "acc" does the oil light come on temporarily to indicate the light is actually working?
2. Sounds like you have the wrong dipstick.
3. Even w/ very little oil your engine can run. A quart or less could be enough to lubricate the entire engine. The problem comes in when that oil begins to heat up and is not replaced by cooler oil in the oil pan. The small amount of oil will begin to overheat and breakdown losing it's ability to properly lubricate.
4. TAKE IT TO THE DEALER AND FIND OUT WHAT'S REALLY THE PROBLEM.

My 07 dipstick has the twist, and having just changed my oil this past weekend I had some trouble getting a good reading because there is sporadic amounts of oil up to the twist. On mine it's definitely not too low, my concern is I might have too much in there.
To the OP, when you drained your oil, did you drain via the drain plug in the oil pan? If you're just going by the filter you're not going to get more than a qt out.
