Great bang for the buck w/ the GT. I've owned three. A 79', a 85', and an 01'. The 85' was my favorite. If you like to mod then you are going to have a lot of fun. Let us know when you put the super charger on it.
Not a a choice I would make as it seems like a few steps backwards but you know what you want and I think you will be very happy w/ the Mustang.

I really like the new Mustang.
Not a bad trade at all I'm sure that Mustang has much more fun to drive then the IS.
I really loved the looks of the IS that is why I got one. I looked my IS every night before I went to bed.
But after a year or so I realized that I rather have a FUN car to drive then a NICE car to look at. I wish I could have both if Lexus made the IS350 in a true MT.
I actually miss my Acura Integra GSR more then I do my IS. Which is sad!

The nice thing about those late model Mustangs is that they really are great looking cars, maybe better than the originals. I
had both a 69 Camaro and a 71 'cuda, and neither GM's new Camaro or Dodge's new Challenger hit the mark near as well as Ford's Mustang.
The Challenger was particularly a let down. They used the Charger frame which meant the car is way to heavy for what it is, and it just doesn't look low and wide enough!
Here is a pic circa 1979, very highly modified 340, lowered, rolled fenders, Supercoupe rims, stripped and debadged.
This ol' coupe got me laid more than any of my Hogs!

I wish you good luck with the American Junk you are buying!
If I were you I would go for ISF for a better power if you are looking for power. You will be owned sooo bad with this crap!
Remember it!

For the price he paid for his new Mustang GT compared to an ISF he saved about 30k. If he took that 30k and put it into the Mustang it would stomp the ISF. All being said I would rather have the Lexus myself but then again it snows in Buffalo 6 months out of the year and I need my awd.

hehe, trading a Lexus for a Ford. Thats pretty interesting. I don't care how many tenth's of second faster the GT is, I dont think that's the wisest trade. But to each his own. Enjoy that domestic beast.

He said in his original post that he's a muscle car guy at heart. To the OP, congratulations on your new car. Have fun.

The 2010 Mustang has come a long long way (love those rear turn lights). While it lacks the grace, luxury, and refinement the IS has, it certainly has more soul. CONGRATS and enjoy!
