I posted this on my.is as well but I don't figure I'll get too many responses so I wanted to cross-post here as well. Sorry if some of you read this twice.
Anyhow....
I just purchased a Nav unit on ebay that has the ENTIRE wiring harness for the unit. I'm quite comfortable installing the unit but had a thought....
Opposed to splicing and dicing, it would be great to extract the existing wires from the connector and relocate them to the required pin (if on the same connector). I know I'll still have to run some wires and do some splicing but this should make for a much cleaner install and hopefully save some time.
Does anyone know what type of pin extractor I would need to extract the pins from the connectors that are used in the audio harness?
Will I need a different tool to re-insert the pins?
Are the pins all the same size?
Is this reasonably possible?
I found a couple site with pin extractors... can someone tell me which one and size to get?
