This reminds me of one of the scariest driving moments when a coyote tried crossing the freeway in front of me in the dead of night at 75 mph. I just barely swerved out of the way in time, but the Civic in the lane right next to me clipped it's rump and sent it spinning like a top to the edge of the road. Thankfully, the teen girl behind the wheel did a commendable job not losing control of her car. The whole thing took about two seconds but life froze and it felt like a minute. Civic's front bumper was trashed and I called authorities to report the new roadkill.
Anyone coming down the 118 in Chatsworth near Rocky Peak be aware. It's a crossing there.
