incompetent tint installer?
I got my IS 350 tinted yesterday, and I noticed on both the left and right rear side windows there are small little gaps.I went back to the shop today and he said the installer probably didn't want to damage the rubber piece. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem? He said they could fix it. Not sure if I want them working on my car again. Also, said he would refund my money. Will probably the money and just go to another shop.

Should of checked on the forum before. A lot of people do not know how to tint and will look good in the beginning. Couple weeks later you'll see the difference between a good tint place vs a bad one. I went to automall tint specialist in fremont. 1 1/2 year and still looks brand new.

My 2 other vehicles have tinted windows 4runner and Sequoia both tint jobs are nice and clean. To bad the shop I brought those vehicles no longer exsist.
Installer was just in a hurry and didn't take pride in his work. Each job you do is a reflection of yourself. So what does that say about this installer?

from the sound of it, seems like they didn't take apart the door panel. it's really difficult to do it properly without taking it apart. the bottom edge of the tint will always rub up against the rubber/felt liner.
anyway, +1 @ automall
i have taken 2 cars there already. more if i drove others more often.
however, they can get pricey if u get better films. bottomline is, i wouldn't hesitate to take it there.

You can but it's not necessary if you know what you're doing. And I think batoman was referring to the small windows on the rear because the curve of it has a rubber molding, to me that's what it sounds like.
