Test Mules are just new internals in older bodies. That car could have an entirely new engine/trans etc... They'll start with that while simultaneously having the interior designed by someone else.

No new updates. Not even on the new ES which is just around the corner. The 2012 IS will be based on the 2011 which just got refreshed. So if you land a 2012, it will likely only be "new" for one model year before the big changes come.

Damn then should I wait for the 3is??? I am looking to buy a is350 AWD this coming may.. There is a few changes to the 2011 model but not anything major

wait till the 3IS comes out and pick up a 2012 AWD on the cheap. Same thing happened with the 2IS. The 05 IS300s i saw on the lot were a steal.

sorry to bring up an old thread but are we all in concensus that the 3rd generation IS will not be out until 2012 as a 2013 MY. I dont forsee Lexus releasing a completely new 3rd generation IS later this year. I would think some news would have surfaced by now if a new vehicle were going to come out. Like others have said, it is likely the 2012 will look much like the 2011. Anyone have additional thoughts?

Yeah, 2012 as a 2013 is the earliest you're likely to see the 3IS.

They wouldn't have bothered doing a 2011 refresh for a single year.

the grill on the current vechicle is unmatched. they could maybe even the car as the car is big up front but small in the back
