Test Mules are just new internals in older bodies. That car could have an entirely new engine/trans etc... They'll start with that while simultaneously having the interior designed by someone else.

No new updates. Not even on the new ES which is just around the corner. The 2012 IS will be based on the 2011 which just got refreshed. So if you land a 2012, it will likely only be "new" for one model year before the big changes come.

sorry to bring up an old thread but are we all in concensus that the 3rd generation IS will not be out until 2012 as a 2013 MY. I dont forsee Lexus releasing a completely new 3rd generation IS later this year. I would think some news would have surfaced by now if a new vehicle were going to come out. Like others have said, it is likely the 2012 will look much like the 2011. Anyone have additional thoughts?
