I actually hope the 3IS would somewhat follow the design of the new 2013 GS. I also hope that Lexus would address at least some of the issues mentioned in the "your beef/gripes with the ISX50" thread.

i really want to see an IS coupe, but they need to do it right. They need to design the coupe as a coupe and with a swoopy roofline instead of just chopping two doors off the sedan like what this photochop has.

I hope not. I hate having all the models look the same. Look at Audi. You don't know if it's the 150K R8 coming at you or the 40K A4 until it's in your face. I hate that.

I spoke to a Lexus rep at an auto show and they mentioned that Lexus' entire lineup will have similar rear and front styling from the 4th gen GS.

That front end on the 4GS is going to be across the whole lineup for sure.

Let's just hope it's not too carbon copy of the GS, I hope it's not exactly like the GS front and back, yes some ques are good but not exactly the same, the IS needs to have some individuality.

It does seem like alot of the car makers are making each model too similar to the next. That is what made the IS sell so well, it sorta looked like a baby GS yet it still kept it's own presence. The IS has this stance when you see one in your rear view mirror you know right away it's an IS not a GS. I don't know the sales numbers but the IS is huge seller for Lexus, so it's important that they get it right again on the new re-design.

It sucks that the 4GS lost its quad headlight structure. I loved that about the GS's. It made them different.

I really hope so to that they don't make the whole line up look exactly the same.

I'll never forget after I purchased my car from JM Lexus they invited me to a roundtable discussion with the actual designer of the 2006+ IS, There must have been about 7 or 8 other owners along with several staff from JM Lexus and of course the designer and his team. It was a good size roundtable in a nice restaurant. I forgot the designers name but he had an interpretor at the roundtable so he heard everything we said. It was something you never forget, to be in the same room with the designer of a car you own, it's a pretty cool feeling. They wanted to know what we liked and disliked and how they could make it better. It really showed how Lexus cared about it's customer's. The food was excellent, it was really an experience. The thread is somewhere on the forum.

So I would not be suprised if they read posts from this forum, especially ones dealing with what we want to see on the new redesign. Look forward to seeing what develops on the redesign.

3IS, from the front end at least, looks like will be more of a refresh than a redesign.
