Default Insurance company screwing me?

So I basically totalled my 2006 IS250 premium package nothing more. No Levinson and it had 76k miles. Well on the quote they wanted to give me around 25k, before the deductions. They said the average mileage was 31k and therefore deduct 9 cents per mile over 31k which ended up being close to 4k. Has anyone gotten into an accident where the mileage was over? If so, how much was deducted per mile? I couldn't find any listings for IS250's with my mileage.

Plus now I'm shopping for a IS350 certified, so if anyone has bought one recently, please let me know how much w/ what features.

Thanks

$25k on an '06 rwd 250 with 76k miles and no nav, no sport pkg, no lux pkg, no ML sounds pretty fair to me. What's Kelley Blue Book?

With 76K on the ODO for an 06 IS250, I'd take that $25K and run.

Black Book Retail says:
Extra Clean 23,575
Clean 22,425
Average 20,925

Trade-In
Clean 19,350
Average 18,325

25k sounds pretty good.

I think he is saying they want to deduct .09cents/mile from the $25K and that will be his payout.

I see. Then if they are only deducting above the 31K "average" mileage, that puts him at $21,040. Still in the "Black Book" retail range. And probably negotiable.

Some times I just don't understand why we pay for insurance.. It seems like the only thing they do when you make a claim is try and pay the least amount of money they can.. Then after they pay the very least when you buy another car the jack up the policy on you... I just feel like it a legal scam... Sorry for getting off topic I just don't understand them lol

Dude I feel the same... and if you get into an accident (which is why you are paying for insurance) they jack up the price and you end up paying for the claim anyway

to the OP:
31K seems a bit low for average mileage for any car. Who drives their car 10k a year? I think they should start charging overage at around 45K miles. I would pull KBB values as well as other sources and negotiate.

I know that insurance companys usually consider 10K to be the average per year on any luxury car.

I still think it's bull the miles should not matter if the car is totaled...
