i have an 06 IS350 w/ 39K miles on it. So, yesterday I just had my 40K miles service done and the technician noticed that there was an oil leaking from the car. Luckily, it'll be fixed under the warranty. Oh, and I've already gotten all the recall fixed early this year.

Has anyone of you experienced this yet? i've read through online and find out that it's common among cars with V6 & V8 engine with 30K miles and above.

It also makes me wonder if I should get an extended warranty since it seems like quite a few problems have been coming up with the Lexus (recall, oil leak). Just how reliable is this car?

It's kinda hard to say how common a problem is if you don't fully describe it.

There's literally dozens of places oil could leak from a V6 or V8, some a lot more of a problem than others, so you'll have to be a bit more specific.


If you do decide on the warranty though do a search, there's at least two dealers who sell warranties to anyone in the country over the phone, genuine Lexus ones, for about half what most dealers seem to ask for em.

Toby Rivers is the other guy who does it, and was $50 less than Troy when I checked last (but that was over a year ago so that could've changed)
