Default Aux jack...am I crazy?

I may be the last one on earth to not own an ipod, and I must have thousands upon thousands of songs on my comp. I know my 06 had that horrible AUX jack design. I tried doing a search but found nada. Do the 07-09s have a USB port next to the AUX jack? The IS-C has one, and I was trying to find out what flash drive to get, or what everyone uses it for. thanks for any help.

06-09 dose not have the USB port. Thats is just on the ISC (for now, im guessing)
Just any media player that has a headphone jack will work.

Just read it on the lexus site...its for charging and ipod or other mp3 player, you wouldnt happen to know if you can just throw a flash drive in there, would ya?

I'm pretty sure it's not going to read the flash drive. iPods are extremely cheap nowadays anyway, you can find a 8GB nano for under $100.

You may want to listen to other MP3 players other then the overpriced iPods, the sound quality is POOR!

In my 09 the aux Jack sounds like crap. Vik did tell me about a TSIB but I decided to do the nav install myself.

Ipod sounds great on my ML system via AUX.

The important part (besides the TSIB that fixes the ground loop flaw in the AUX port) is getting your output from the dock connector since it's a true line-out, not the headphone connector.

Well, what would you recommend? I could care less about an apple product, the only reason I might consider it is because all hotels and and products seem to be fit for ipods. However, I would rather have something cheaper, I just wont use the MP3 player enough. When I got my 06 I made an MP3 disc. It sat in the car the entire time I had it. Guess I am just more a radio/sports talk radio guy.

I agree, and now that you can buy dock to 3.5mm cables on eBay for about $3 shipped, I can't understand why anyone would choose to connect via the (inferior sounding) headphone output.

To further clarify the issue fixed by the ground loop TSIB (for those who may want to get it fixed while their warranty is still in force): this flaw is only audible if your connection to the car powers/charges the player. If you only connect the audio, you won't hear the annoying static and ignition noise.

Take a good set of headphones (I use and recommend Etymotic ER-4P http://www.amazon.com/Etymotic-ER-4P.../dp/B0007WZLDC) to your local electronics store and listen to what's available.

I found that the Sandisk Fuse MP3 player had better sound then ANY iPod and had nice features like a memory card slot (16gb internal and 16gb micro SD), custom adjustable EQ, built-in mic for voice recording and memo, and FM.

Thanks Koz, I will check out Bestbuy for the Fuse...as for the headphones, I will stick with my $70 Sonys...or at least they were at the time. Damn, 170 for headphones....I guess you get what you pay for though.

Did you see the retail price? At first I could not bring myself to pay so much but after listening to all in that price range, the $170 ER-4P were easier to swallow! You can not imagine how great they sound. When you close your eyes it sounds like you're sitting in a recording studio (Live)!
