That is true to a point. Sidewall construction varies ( # of plies, material & method of "laying" the plies, mold design) but there are many variables to impact breaks just like puntures: Sidewall height, PSI, rim width vs tire width, tire age etc. I like rayon in my tire material list, BFG used to use rayon alot in their sidewalls & being owned by Michelin helps alot too!

Fastest way thru W.LA, I'm sure you were observing the 35MPH limit

My Wife bent 2 wheels & 2 bubbled tires in the Jag on Pico a couple years ago

Based on your recommendation Koz, I'm going with the BFG g-Force A/S tires.

+1 on ditching it....

I had some Michelin PS2's I was using on a spare set of drift-o rims for my 240 with that same bubble. Went out to a local meet and it burst just cruising @ 20mph, almost messed up my reemz. Just completely blew out on me, definately no good on a DD.

Hope you're replacing all four. And, stay away from those curbs

Amazing that someone would play with their safety (as well as their car) by not wanting to replace that damaged tire. Then when it blows they scoot to the nearest law firm to sue for damages.

Of course!

And the curb thing happened as a fluke going through a crappy drive thru.

Costco has a $70 off a set of four promo going right now. I know it applies to Micehlins& I think it might apply to BF Goodrich too.

Personally, I would go with the Michelins if you can afford them.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...jsp?type=UHPAS

Check the above to see why I would go with the Michelins instead of the BF Goodrichs.
