Removing paint on tail lights?
So I am about to drive 12 hours home to VA where tinted tail lights are ILLEGAL and therefore I need to remove the paint. Anyone have any legit ways to do it? I have heard acetone isn't a good way to do it and I have seen paint thinner used HOWEVER, it leaves an awfullllllll hazy look on the tail lights like the clear coat has came off the lights! Anyone have suggestions on how to prevent this from happening!?!?
AND please don't tell me not to paint them to prevent this......I honestly need help. And yes I have been looking for answers but nothing......

Post a thread asking a local member for help if you do get a fix it ticket I will help any local club Lexus member in the 818 la area with a fix it for tail lights if they need it I've done this with a few people already labor and everything a lot of people and if you don't want to handle it that way I'd say trade them with someone straight up

i heard that there is a polishing thing for headlights so i think that may work foru taillights. the paint remover i used didnt rip the clear coat. im absolutely sure it didnt becase when i was sanding off the acrylic, it was shiny. it was the sanding block i used that cause it to become all grey.

Use those bottles you can pick up at home depot to remove graffiti etc and wet sand that sucker....might have to use ultrafine like 3000 grit to buff then use plasticx to buff. if it works for headlights shouldn't be any different for tails.
