Hi guys. I've already removed the boot lining and the metal holder. Whats left is the 2 housing now. So how do i change the bulbs? Do i unscrew the screw on the housing? I've tried that but the screws wouldnt budge.

Or do i juz remove the entire housing? If so, how do i do that?

What are you trying to accomplish? We already have bomb license plate lighting.

It is not a LED according to the Sylvania Replacement Guide. It's a 168.

i changed every light but the rear license plate to LED..i think it's badass stock, it seems LED enough..but sorry can't help ya w/ the install, everythin else im experienced

According to the Sylvania Guide http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...de/default.htm the 07-08 are 168 filament style bulb and the 09 is an "assembly". Hope that helps.

I can almost guarantee the 2IS comes with stock LED licenses plate lights. Thats why people are always trying to get the same color/output as the lexus guys,thats what all my bimmer friends try to replicate .


Even in the 06-08 i believe its all an assembly, as in soldered together so you cant really take them apart. There was a thread by hapaboy(i think?) where he tried to take it out or something, but found out its one big assembly unit.

It is LED. My BMW 335i comes stock LED license plate.

The parts department only had a listing for an "assembly" and no bulb #. Sylvania must be wrong.
