the factory tweeter is 3/4", i would like to run at least 1". i was wondering if anyone else has installed an aftermarket one successfully, keeping the factory panel/pod. also, if anyone knew the max mounting depth, that would be nice too

 

All stock. Have some Bostons 1", but never installed them as stock is very impressive.

I have installed an aftermarket 3/4 inch tweeter and it fit perfectly. While installing i was getting a close look at the pod and i can pretty much assure you that a standard 1 inch dome tweet will not fit without some modding

 

thanks, by the way, what was the mounting depth of your 3/4" aftermarket tweeter? did you have any issues with the pod?

 

the tweeter was really small,i think the depth couldnt have been more than an inch or maybe an inch and a half at the very most. No issues with putting the tweeter in, it was basically a drop in upgrade. Its fits nice and snug in the pod though, so i'm thinking 90% of the 1 inch versions wont fit
