Default Got the Toyo T1Rs

After 33K miles on the stock tires, it was time for new shoes:

Was $1020 for the set, and my front alignment was a little off.. specifically toe. $50 for that.

I've only driven a few miles on them, but they are really really smooth.

Nice, had my stock 06s replaced with the T1s, they were my second set (had them on a previous car). While they are not the cheapest, they are a great tire. Only tire I feel was better were my Pirelli PZero...and they are $$$$$. I would go with the Toyos thesedays as replacements for sure.

Aren't shoes wheels? Not tires? Any who, I got T1Rs as well and love them. I just need something with more traction but then I'd have to deal with less thread wear

Shoes are tires, and I do like the T1R's. Had them since April (19's). Good handling, reasonably quiet and smooth riding for 35 and 30 series tires.

Just wondering why you didn't go with PS2 since it is in the same price range.

Toyo T1R's are cheaper, nobody at the high-end / experienced tire and wheel shop I use could give me a good reason to pay the difference.

Tirerack has PS2 for ~$200 each for 18s. My friend had T1R on his 335i and he experienced the side wall cracking.

Bummer on the T1R sidewalk cracking, haven't experienced that running 19's. Was it a manufacturing defect (warranty) or road hazard damage?

I would be interested in how they perform to PS2s. Although they are not far off in price.

I think I saw an test in either C&D or R&T and the PS2 outperformed the T1R on the track. I'll see if I can dig it up. And for some people that track their cars, that's very important. But the cheaper T1R makes sense for many ISx50 owners that use their car 100% on the street.

I heard PS2 had better tread also with better wet/dry traction. For about ~$100-$200 more than T1R.

Well, I don't have much of a base for comparison since I just came off the stockers, but after driving around on these for a day I have to say they are a significant improvement over the stock tires in everyday situations. The ride is very smooth and quiet--- I can actually hear my anemic 2.5L engine working now . It's very comfortable, yet, handling is much crisper and predictable (lane changes, right angle turns). Highly recommend--. I didn't search around for price very much since I was limited on time, but felt $1020 installed at Les Schwab was fair. Plus, job was done in 40 minutes.

I had a set of them on my car. Good thread wear and pretty crisp handling.
