Default One more tire/awd question....

Ok just got some OEM 18s off an 07 is250.... the tires are 225/40/18 fronts and 255/40 rears i think...

The fronts i know need to be 225/45/18 and on the way home my awd warning came on and then the sensor(something else came on) is it ok if i drive like this for like a week?

or do i need to replace the tires asap like tommarow>? thanks

The default 18" tire setup will not work. I would not even drive with them on to be honest. Which is why I am scared since I am running a larger overall setup, if I ever bust a tire on a road trip I don't think I even can drive home on the smaller spare

Sounds like you're really pissing off the center differential. It might be very expensive to continue driving on it.

Exactly why I would not do it. My guess is you are asking for an expensive problem.

if the warning comes on...then better go change it. but its funny that i was using 225/35/19 and 255/35/19, for 2-3 months and nothing happens to me.

Um well i replaced the fronts and got 225 45 18 which is the same overall diameter as the 255/40s.... so the dealer said im fine i took it in there and they tried to reset it but couldnt and said it was fine to drive on except that they have to go in and change everything manually.

What do you mean? I just saw love67 mention that he heard from Lexus tech that its okay within a 1" diameter, so I just did mine according to what is okay for my rim width.

235/40/18
275/35/18

Your warning should of went away after, if not then the dealer should take a closer look to see if there are issues or that the code just got stuck. :/

I did 225/45/18 and 255/40/18 and they are the exact same almost... but could it be because i already tripped the sensor and then replaced the tires, thats why i still have the light on?
