Default Is Clear Bra & Touch of Class Worth It?

The Clear Bra seemed to make sense, so I purchased it (wasn't sure if there were cheaper alternatives, but decided it was worth it to have Lexus service install it.)

Touch of Class (e.g., the paint protection guaranteed for 7 years) seemed a little more "iffy," but the finance manager explained that this would protect against all kinds of natural/environmental damage to the paint, or Lexus would repair/repaint for free. I particularily see the usefullness when it comes to protecting against road tar and grime that build up around the bottom of the doors, and also to protect against tree sap, oxidation/acid rain, bird droppings, etc ....

What do you guys think? It was about $1,600 to pay for this, so that was a big bite. I love the idea that these two options will keep my car's paint in showroom floor quality for the next 7 years. Are my suspicions that this is just dealer profit and I'm naive true?

It's mostly dealer profit, I think. I got the same type of protection plan when I purchased my car. But if you live in high traffic/pollution congested areas, it might be worth it. 7 years is a long time!

You'll be happy with the clear bra.
Especially, your front lower grill takes a beating from all the rocks that kick up..

Yeah, I felt the clear bra was the better of the two options, but do hope the paint protection actually works.

I actually for the first time saw the rear bumper applique a few days ago, along with clear bra in the front, it's really noticeable on GFM.

I think if you were to post the dealer offered paint protection question in the detainling section of this forum you would find that the pros there say that it's a waste of your money. The products used are available online and if you don't feel like DIY have a pro. detailer do it.

Clear bra FTW.

Clear bra FTW, I get it on all my cars. However, after a while the clear bra is somewhat noticeable due to light scratches... but still better than rock chips

Isthrizzy, try buffing the clear bra. I know some have had luck with that.

Lex IS 250. $1600 for touch of glass is a rip off. I paid only $495 for both interior and exterior. That the price you should pay not $1600. I've seen a few of my friends that have clear bra, not a fan of it but it does the job I guess.
