My new car and some closure on the jar of marbles (pics)
I traded in my 07 IS250 for an 02 Corvette convertible.
The jar of marbles noise in my vette is even worse than in the Lexus! I'll never escape those throwout bearings! The Corvette came with an owners video that was produced by GM in 02 and it even stated in the video that this noise is perfectly normal and will be present on all MT models. The sound is much louder in the vette and is heard most when the transmission heats up. Come to think of it, everything is louder in the Vette! I can accept now that no car is perfect in every way, you just need to make sure the positives outweigh the negatives (by a LOT!).
I will miss the interior and comfort of the Lexus. GM clearly did not focus on quality interior parts and it show. It's a convertible, so it rattles like crazy, but the HP helps you forget about that..
I hope to still linger around the forums and I'm sure I'll be back in a Lexus at some point. Thanks for all the great help and advice! This forum has been a great resource.
I'm sure you'll like the photo of me justifying the purchase to my dad!
wheels are for sale in the classified if anyone's interested.

Your aftermarket flywheel didn't have the damping system the OEM one did. The OEM ones are quiet for some period of time, then start making the jar full of marbles sound. This has been true since 1993 when Chevrolet and Toyota went to LUK for "dual mass" flywheels in Vettes, Camaros, and Supras.
oohhhhhh the memories
