Repainting my IS250 (Want your suggestions!)
#17
waste of $$ if you ask me.. i say back to original color if you must...
sorry, but i had a custom paint before, candy apple red, died out pretty quick.. wished i had an original color before i gave it up.. it's not like you will keep the car forever.. buyers really won't appreciate the custom paint no matter how good it is..

Talked to the guy who will be painting it, i can come in on monday and check out what we can put together. I think i'm going to make it a little darker, with some more gold flake, we'll see.
Getting my Roof, Roof Spoiler, Inner Grill painted black, and then outer grill, rear bumper reflectors painted to match the car.
I think i'm going to go this route. Make it darker.
Nice color, a little too dark for me!
Been done!
Seems to be the easiest of the two!
A bit too dark as well!
I have a buddy with an E46 in that blue, i forgot what it's called, not a big fan of it, although it would probably look amazing on an IS. He is building an E36 M3 right now that is a lighter more electric blue, i like that one. I don't think vinyl would stand up to cleveland's everyday weather.
Sure can't!
Looks too flat of a red, although i love how it looks, a neighbor of mine has a 1098
Thanks, good read! You are sick at searching.
I can't believe it's a factory color..

Been there but i was able to find a shop that matched the MRM paint perfectly by using some liquor on the edges of the old paint
I am a big fan of Electric Blue though...

I would go with black unless you have a really custom interior. Painting the interior pieces is a trend that's getting a bit long in the tooth. On my old car, half the interior was painted the same custom candy blue as the exterior with lots of aluminum trim (this was back in '04). It looked fine, but it was mostly a show car and not practical for daily driving. It also took a ton of work as we had to sand down and fill a lot of the pieces so that the paint would match the exterior. Paint is easier to chip than the factory finish on most plastics in the interior, keep that in mind. Also having seen some color matched interiors that are otherwise stock, it looks unfinished. With black, it would be subtle.
