I'm pretty sure these wheel companies have done much research on what can fit on the IS safely. It comes down to the dimensions of the car and the distance from the hub.
You also have to factor in the disk height on the wheel. You need enough meat for the wheel to sit safely onto the hub and for the lugs to hold the wheel.
If you ever look at a big lip wheel and see the lugs...they stick out far. But up front it is flush with the holes where the disk is high.

With a 20, the overall rolling diameter is going to be a bit bigger (which is why our cars look like 4x4's when we put 20's on at stock height). So it's going to sit closer to the fender, hence you may not be able to go as aggressive. If you can't go as aggressive, you may not be able to get as big of a lip on there.

im talking about flat forging...
IMO, those with the curved forging are stealing away from those with the nicer forging which is flat...
I absolutely DESPISE wheel companies that use the curved faces, but thats IMO
I know someone that is putting a 4" rear lip on his ISX50 WITH flat forging....
Thats why i started this thread... i want to know if hes going to be the first...

Hell yeah everything you do by a inch even half a inch matters no matter what.. Its the way we mod our cars that set us apart. Many have say that 4 inch on a 20x10.5 rears are impossible or people just dont have the ***** to do it right!! Correct me if im wrong, but if i ever see someone with a 4 inch lip on 20's, order me a pair ASAP
