I hate the wood trim

That's just not true. The super high quality overlays sold by Carson a couple of years ago (about $370) have perfect fit and are indistinguishable from OEM. Two years later they still look perfect in my car. As usual, you get what you pay for.

Did you use just tape to fasten the trim or did you use something else?
Thanks!

I have the overlay as well, I think the "real" replacement ones are too expensive, the overlay will leave you more cash to get other mods like the door sills, even an exhaust...
If you have wood then you will have to wrap the wood with black vinly so you wont be able to see the wood around the edges of the overlay. Im sure the real replacement is better and higher quality but whatever... here are some pics of mine

I really like the CF with the black interior. I have cashmire, so, for me, I prefer the look for the dark wood. Typically, I dont like wood bc it is overwhelming in some cars, eg 335, but in the IS, I dont think it is too much. But, that is just my opinion.

how would you go about painting the wood? I have the brown wood and would love to try to make it black. Has anyone here tried this? Pics? I just wrapped mine in the Neffy wrap and I love the door handles but the center console just isnt up to par for me, I could probably get it better but I still think its a half assed job.
