Questions about IS350
I am considering buying a 2010 IS350 or IS350c. Do any of you have the bumper sensors (Intuitive Parking Assist) on your cars? Do you like them? I have an OEM European style outside mirror glass on my VW that I got from a US VW dealer. It has a built in blind spot mirror that's required in UK and Europe. Is a similar mirror glass available for a Lexus? Maybe Japan uses the same type. Does anyone have one? TIA

i have the parking assistant on my is350, i love it its great i wish the front had 4 instead of 2 to cover dead on and not just the corners like my old es used to but the back is fully covered, its well worth getting

Well, I have the convertible, no mirrors like you speak of so I doubt the 10 sedan would have anything. I dont care how much technology the put in a car, I always turn around and look behind me. Its just not worth it to do anything else. Europe is Europe.... I too wish the front sensors were in the middle, but again I am always careful. n My friend has a GS450 or whatever they are 2 years ago. He had the camera and parking sensors down to a science. He would come withing 2 inches of whatever was behind him....my point being it is possible to rely on them.

I know which mirrors your speak of, and they're handy. But I don't think I've ever once said "man, I wish I had a better side-view mirror". In fact, I'm always amazed at how big they are compared to BMWs and the like.
The park sensors work great. I'm very happy I got them. Its stopped me from bumping into low-laying objects in my garage a number of times. Worth the $ IMO.

Ijust purchased my IS350 at the end of June and the backup camera was one of several deciding factors for me to pick the IS. At least two other cars I was considering didn't even offer it as an option. I got the backup camera and never looked back...haha
It also came with the parking sensors which is a nice feature but I don't really need them. If I was parking in the city every day they may come in handy. Good luck on your purchase.

If you have the nav/back-up camera, the PA is useless. The front does not have a center sensor so the only thing it detects is the corners when parking, useless. The rear is better but I have found that it is very limited to what it senses and can miss object like poles. I found myself almost hitting several objects and not being able to completely trust the system. On the other hand the back-up camera is amazing and can be completely trusted. I only use the PA in very tight spots which I can count on one hand how many times I've used it in two years. If I had to decide again I would pass on the PA, not worth $500. Also don't waste your money on the JUNK OEM all-weather floor mats. You will be lucky to get one year out of them.
