Default Need Help: Broken Accelerator Assembly

Good evening,

I broke something and could use some (specific) help.

In the process of install my sport pedals, I broke the the accelerator assembly. Specifically where the upper right bolt (and subsequently the nut) goes the plastic housing broke which means the top right portion of the accelerator assembly won't tighten properly.

I apologize if the description is sketchy, but the gist of it is I need the plastic housing for the accelerator housing. The part number on the housing says Denso 78110-53031 and the next line says 198800-7860. I'm assuming that is the entire pedal assembly, and I just need the plastic housing, but I realize I may have to buy the entire thing. /sigh

I've already done a toyota/lexus part search, and called some salvage yards, and I plan to get a quote from the dealership tomorrow, but I could use some specific suggestions (like specific vendors, etc).

If you have any specific ideas (i.e. not ... do a google search, or contact a denso reseller, etc. because I've already done that), then please let me know.

Ironically, I did the F-sport Intake install tonight and it went pretty smoothly.

/sigh

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Pedal install is a tad bit hairier than the intake. Good luck getting the new part.

Plan for frigid temperatures. You won't find a smaller sub-assembly for sale anywhere but maybe a junkyard.

Well then it might be time for some plastic soldering ;-)

...but I am checking salvage yards.

I found the assembly for like $350, but it's hard to swallow that cost when the only thing broke is the plastic "eyelet" in the upper right where the bolt goes through (which I should be able to replace with just a plastic back).

I'm not very happy with myself. I can't believe I broke it even utilizing an angle adapter. Although I blame myself, I wish some of these things would be made with some metal. :-)

I started filling out forms with salvage yards and used part dealers, and I'm hopeful I can find something soon. If not, I may try plastic solder. /sigh

I used a plastic weld on it for now, and am investigating some other options I got over PM.
