In the past month, an intermittent problem started...after turning car off, sometimes the doors will not lock by handle or keyfob until the headlights go out.
Anyone heard of this happening?

thats just weird.. Bring it back to the dealership for your cars safety. This is how it should work when the doors should lock. When you unlock your car and you dont start the engine and you step out of your car it should lock by itself (but i dont know exactly how fast it locks on its own). But if you're turing off your car and you get out you must lock your car manually.

No, I'm pretty sure the automatic relock only happens if you unlock the car and don't open a door. Once you open a door, it will stay unlocked, even if you don't start the car.

They told you wrong. You always have to manually lock the car (with the door handle button or key fob) after you get out. The automatic re-lock feature (if a door isn't opened in a minute) is to handle the situation where the unlock button on the key fob is pressed accidentally (e.g. by other items in your pocket or purse.)
