Break-in on my 350 and my F was complete in less than 100 miles. But that's just me and 30 some odd years of building engines for street and competition. Here's some discussion on my methodology and it's certainly not all complimentary, but break-in is like oil - everyone has an opinion:

I didn't floor my is350 until I got 5000miles....maybe once but i didnt red line it.

I used to get 23mpg city 29.7mpg highway....

Now it has 6320miles and I drive it normal. few 5000rpm and mostly 2200rpm...
I get 22.2mpg avg.

I think if I drive hard on break-in period, the engine sounds while its parked, is louder....
My old Scion(redlined a lot) was really loud. louder than my friend's scion....

Yeah, that's pretty much how I did it. The car runs like a charm.

Probably nothing wrong with what you did. Just read your manual. I believe the factory has tested this car more than anyone and knows best.
While we're on topic, the worst thing one can do is rev the hell out of it right after it has been sitting overnight or cold. At least give the engine a few minutes to warm up and all the fluids coating everything.

yes, its the oil flowing thats most important at startup 'pour rate'(?) something like that... lobux can explain the oil flow pour rate at startup stuff better than me as he has many times in other posts.

Yes, and this is why I recommend driving for at least 20 minutes before doing final break-in. The oil has to be up to temperature and delivering the magic 10 cSt viscosity before putting full load on the pistons and rings. To do otherwise invites disaster.

In the linked post above says I NEVER allow a fresh engine to idle, it is the kiss of death IMO...

When I got my car (for a month ago) the salesman went through all functions with me in the car while the engine in idle. Don't remember for how long...maybe 15 minutes or so... I did it too at the parking lot when I played around all new stuffs in the car...was that a kiss of death???

LOL. No... you didn't hurt your engine letting it idle.

No because Lexus already did all the initial fire testing and initial break-in items at the factory. Besides, there's not much you can do about it now anyway.

I just won't let an engine I've freshly rebuilt idle before I've put some load on the pistons and rings. You want pressure on the rings to force them to mate with the cylinder walls. Idling produces the tiniest amount of cylinder pressure the engine can sustain. That's why I never let a fresh engine idle.

just drive it how you would normally drive it on a day to day base. dont be afraid to go high on the rpm. you want the engine to wear into "your driving habits"..

if your concern about not doing it correctly, do a compression test now and do another one at 1500, 2000 miles, your compression should be better as you put more mileage on the engine. thats the easiest way i can think of.

haha I had a friend I was 17 with a car that I suspected was stolen cause hes broke and randomly had a C6 vette with 8000 miles and a ridiculous story about how he got it but I asked those questions later cause the first thing he said to do was drive it once it clicked in my head that I didnt think it was his I drove like I had 2 dead hookers in the trunk straight back to my car and left
