I would also think that 335 would be lil nicer than 250... it performs good and it has almost similar features as Lexus... If you get a brandnew one you dont have to worry about maintenance.. thats one of things i liked about my e46 m3... it was good to have free stuff maintenance. because it aint cheap to maintain the car just like many IS-F owners know... (eg. break pads and rotors...)

DON"T DO IT!!!
Coming from a guy who has owned DTM cars since day one, I will not trade-in my "F Sport" IS250 for a 335. And this is first time I bought a Japanese car. I use to hate JDM cars, and now I'm obsessed with them. But then again its only been 3mos. I better take that back. LOL
IN all seriousness, maybe you need to turn your IS into a sporty car like an F Sport and you will thank yourself thereafter, for not trading in for 3series.

I myself cross shopped the 335 sedan with the IS350. I have to admit I like the torque from the BMW and the steering was a bit heavier, more feel to it. I ended up choosing a 2008 IS350 with Nav/sport pkg due to the great reliability I had with my 2006 IS250, the interior is by far a better design/layout, and the 350 with the sport pkg handles pretty darn good especially considering its my wifes I also wanted comfort access on the BMW and struggled to find one in the color combo I wanted too(comes standard on the lexus).
The best part for me is the 350's engine is leaps/bounds faster than the 250, its night/day!
Its too bad BMW has had issues with reliability on its new TT motors. I do like the handling and power of the 335.
Good luck to the OP!

My g/f cross-shopped the two (IS350 and 335i) about 2 years ago and went with the IS350 only because she liked the interior more. She even admits that the IS drives nothing like the 335i (more body roll, bounce, etc); her G35 coupe was more comparable. Personally, I'm not about interiors at all. I always felt BMW interiors are simple and functional without all the glam; I would have bought the 335i over the IS350.
You can't just lower a car and get a sway bar and expect it to feel like the BMW; it may handle better but the FEEL will not be there.
If the question is purely should you trade your IS250 for a 335i, then my answer is "yes," IMO you should. Unless you just need good fuel economy, some luxury, and little power - get the 335i. An IS350 will feel just like your 250 but with more power, which I guess is fine if you're a stoplight racer...

exactly what phillip said. oh come if you have already got an IS250 sedan and after buying it thinking about a 335i is not that unusual. One other question for the other members who think he should get the 350.... if he didnt like the 250 because it didnt feel sporty paying more to buy the 350 modding it and all is pretty useless. it pretty much shows you didnt try both cars... go for the 335i!

i know this doesn't answer your question but i think you may wanna check out a 350 then. as biased as i may seem seeing as how i own one, from everything i have heard and felt, the only argument that people can give as to why the 335 > 350 is that it handles better. in practically every other category, the is350 wins hands down.

The 335 would be quite expensive, have you checked the numbers? I think we've all been in a car or two that we thought rode nice, but one should not get wowed by it and change cars in one week. Do considerable research, check Consumer Reports longterm ratings, go into chatrooms (BMW/Edmunds), and study the entire thing for a length of time. This will likely bring you back down to your senses and keep you from making an impluse buy.
FWIW, my personal research has found most today's German cars are high maintenance and expensive to own after 3-4 years.
