Default Work Emotion CR Kai custom centercap blueprints

Created this post to help any Emotion CR Kai owners looking for centercaps. Don't know really know where to post this, except here.

As most Emotion CR Kai owners know, NOBODY makes centercaps for our rims and you simply cannot use Rota Torque or another Work centercap. So I made my own out of aluminum roundstock and Delrin (high-temp plastic). Any competent machine shop with a lathe should be able to make you a set.

Here are my ghetto blueprints:

freshly made:

played around with a few ideas:

decided on this:

turned out great man! the reason that work doesnt make center caps for their Emotion line is because usually the wheels are used for racing/track use and are often changed. theres just no need for center caps for track use.

i'm a structural designer, i work with engineers, in the company i work for they kinda discourage the engineers from using computer programs to make their engineer sketches all pretty, they'd rather them sketch it out real quickly and then give it to a deisgner(me). designers interpret the engineer's sketch into a drawing using cad programs, makign sure that all the necessary anotations are and details are called out properly for them to be constructed. Also they try and simplify their design if they see anywhere fit with consent of the engineer.

but awesome centercaps man... they look legit... cuz they are haha

There are tons of "track use" wheels that use center caps. It's the center-locking wheels (only one fastening point, right to the hub) that don't use the center caps. The only time a center cap has to be removed is to mount the wheel on a balancing machine. Swapping wheels and tires on the car doesn't really have anything to do with center caps. It's purely aesthetics.
