iirc...
first, disconnect the battery from your car.
then, remove the front engine compartment vanity panel. that's the one that covers the radiator. you don't need to take the other panels out.
you'll then need access to the housings. for the driver's side, you'll need to remove the oem airbox. if you have an aftermarket intake (a la K&N, fujita, injen), you should have enough space to work with. if you have an f-sport intake, the intake box will need to come out. for the passenger's side, remove the windshield washer fluid pipe. it'll be cramped, but you'll have enough space.
to gain access into the housing, there's a black, plastic lid. one end is semi-hinged, the other held w/ a hinged metal clip. pop the clip back and swing the lid out. it should come right off the semi-hinge. same with the other side.
inside the housing, unplug the HID harness from the bulb. i can't remember if it's notched or not, but if it is twist it in the direction of least resistance and it should slide right off. same with the other side.
once you unplug the HID harness from the bulb, there's a hinged metal retaining clip holding the D4S bulb in the housing. DO NOT UNSCREW THE RETAINING CLIP FROM THE HOUSING. pinch it, and it should swing out. same with the other side.
the D4S bulb should come out freely. if it doesn't, it's probably notched, which means you'll have to twist it in the direction of least resistance until it does. same with the other side.
installation of your new D4S bulbs is opposite of oem D4S bulb removal.
again, this is based off of what i can remember, since it's been a while since i did this. i think i might go in there tonight and take some pics while i redo the process...

edit: well, it looks like there IS a thread on it already...

I currently have OEM HIDs with 4,300k bulbs. The passenger side one randomly goes off and not sure if it's the bulb or the ballast?
1. Is there a way to tell without switching the bulbs i.e. put passenger on the driver and vice versa?
2. Also if it is the bulb, where can I find good quality HID bulbs?
3. Should i stick with 4,300k or move up to 6,000k? I find the 6,000k to be a little too bluish.
4. I found this place online selling OEM philips 4,300k D4S bulbs for $80. Doesn't that sound too good to be true?
http://www.hidconcept.com/Bulbs-philips4k-d4s.html
Help will be much appreciated.
Thanks

1. not that i know of, but removal is not difficult.
2. for oem blubs, stick w/ the oem factory bulbs. for aftermarket bulbs, garax or phillips ultinons.
3. if 6000K is too blue for you, either look for 5000K for your preferred blend of light output/color, or stick w/ oem.
4. the link you provided shows 4800K D4S bulbs. iirc OEM D4S bulbs are rated at 4300K.
